Overview
Named in honour of Queen Victoria, Queen’s Park developed from the 1870s after the Royal Agricultural Society held its annual show on the site in 1879. A campaign to preserve the land as public open space succeeded, and the park itself opened in 1887, with the surrounding Victorian and Edwardian streets built up around it in the years that followed.

The Jam filmed their music video for When You’re Young at the park’s bandstand in 1979.

Queen’s Park has a number of well-regarded local primary schools, including Salusbury Primary School. For transport, Queen’s Park station provides Bakerloo line and Overground services, with direct connections to Euston in around ten minutes and Clapham Junction in under thirty.
